    When are the polls open?
    Election Day poll hours are 10:00 a.m. to 8 p.m.
    When is advanced voting?

    Advanced voting will take place at Elliot Lake City Hall from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on:

    • October 5
    • October 6
    • October 9
    • October 10
    • October 11
    Where do I vote?
    The main voting location on Election Day will be Collins Hall.
    Where are the special voting places?

    There are special voting places for residents of St. Joseph Manor, Huron Lodge and Hillside Park. You must vote at your special voting place if you are a resident there.

    Special voting place times and locations:

    • St. Joseph Manor, 70 Spine Road, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
    • Huron Lodge, 100 Manitoba Road, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
    • Hillside Park Retirement Residence, 11 Mississauga Avenue, from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
    Am I on the voters' list?

    Revisions to the list begin September 3, 2018. You will need to update your information if you have moved or changed any of it. You will need to update this even if you updated it for the recent June 2018 provincial election, as those are two different lists.

    What if I can't be there to vote on Election Day?

    You can get a proxy voting form from the City Clerk's Office after July 30, 2018. You must get your proxy voting form certified by the City Clerk during regular office hours. The deadline to get your proxy form certified is 4:30 p.m. on Election Day.

    Your proxy must be eligible to vote. Proxy votes for residents of special voting places must be made at the respective location during the assigned voting times.

    Who can vote?

    You can vote if on Election Day you are:

    • A Canadian citizen
    • At least 18 years of age or older
    • A resident or spouse of an owner or tenant of land
    • Not otherwise prohibited from voting

    I didn't receive my voter information card can I still vote?
    The City of Elliot Lake does not issue Voter Information Cards.
    How many times can I vote? 
    Once. Even if you own multiple residences, you can only cast one vote.
